A Cisco ASA uses built-in flash memory (flash: or dir0:) to store its configuration files, OS binaries and several auxiliary files used to provide system features (for example, Anyconnect client and Cisco secure Desktop images)
File management using ASDM offers unique capabilities not accessible from the CLI : the capability to move files directly to or from the host the host on which ASDM is running without a server protocol such FTP or HHTP running on that host. For me the best tool to save and restore ASA's configurations and others files is : "file management". This tool can in the "tool menu" of an ASDM.
